To get inf gold all I did was use the dupe trick with the shared stash but its only really useful to get gold or to clone items for another toon becasue the game will detect dupe items and delete them all. And as someone that would actually like to play a remastered Diablo 1, this is definitely not the way to go, the mod incorporates too many gameplay changes (any at all to be honest, that's an instant no-no for me).
Nevertheless, if there ever will be a remastered Diablo 1, it will be made by Blizzard and sold on their own platform.

Belzebub mod is most likely the best way to enjoy Diablo. Not only it's far superior technically to what GOG team coocked up (great stability, all modern screen ratios with multiple zoom levels, lots of quality of life improvements) but also fixes numerous bugs and exploits that were never addressed by Blizzard (a lot of spells in D1 simply doesn't work, etc.).
